Already we seem to be getting back into our old routine. It will be a relief. Summer is great, but often chaotic. Mostly what makes it that way is the absense of my husband in the house. He travels with the youth so much during the summer and is usually going about 200 miles per hour (as opposed to his usual 100 mph). Finally he is around again! Yeah! Things just aren't the same when he's absent.
At least the adults in the house are happy that things are returning to some normalcy again. I'm not so sure about the boys. They're glad to have dad around more and to be seeing their friends in school, but Monica made the summer so fun for them that they wished it would go on forever. They traveled to foreign lands with passport in hand, pretended to be spies, cowboys, policemen, and so many other things, made up their own games, built a fort in the back yard and learned about their environment, plus earned rewards for good behavior. She really did go above and beyond. We chose the best sitter for our boys. She made the summer really fly by for them. Joel was asking me last night when she will be babysitting them again. He couldn't quite get that just because they will be home on Saturday, it doesn't mean that she'll be sitting for them. He was so disappointed. I plan to make her an extra special gift to thank her for all of her hard work. We are so blessed!!!
