I haven't written in over a week (though I've been reading all of yours) because life has been very strange lately. It seems that our lives may soon be taking some drastic changes, but we're just not sure yet what (or if) those will be. It's a confusing time, but somehow I am moving into a time of inner peace through our current situations. Things have changed in our lives before. Everything always works out somehow. We put our trust in the Lord, and I believe that He has given us skills and common sense to get through just about anything. Not to mention the fact that He has given us each other. Have I ever told you that my family is totally awesome?...Well, they are! My husband and I had a rough patch a few years back now. Things looked bleak, but we worked through it (along with a wonderful counselor). Today I think that our marriage is the strongest that it has ever been. He is a truly good man, husband, father, provider...and sexy too. Yeah for me!
One thing that may be changing is that I have finally picked a direction. It seems that I pick a new career to pursue every day lately. Back in '96 I graduated from college with a BA in psychology. For about a year I worked in the field and decided it just wasn't for me. So, I have never gotten my masters as previously planned. Plus the fact that we decided I would stay home with the kids while they were little. Now they are both in school full time, and I have worked part-time for the last couple of years. It's time to go back to school and make myself more marketable. So, the chosen career path...drum roll please...Occupational Therapy!!! First I plan to get my COTA and after working a couple of years in the field and paying down those old school loans (for the psych degree I am currently not using), I will go back for my masters in OT. I don't know why this career didn't occurred to me sooner. It is what my dad does, and we are quite alike in some ways. He tells me that he has always loved what he does. Wish me luck. I plan to meet with the school this week to figure out the details and then begin classes in the Spring. At least that expensive degree should come in handy for something; I hope to transfer in quite a few credits.
